Life is so busy nowadays isn't it? We rush around trying to cram in as much as possible to the day - including doing the shopping.
Thank goodness supermarkets have thought of this and now stock absolutely everything you could wish for in one place! We don't need to go anywhere else do we? Well if it continues that way, there won't be any small local shops left - plent more derelict buildings to convert into studio flats I suppose.
If it carries on that way, there won't be anyone like our own Roma Williams and her friend Jayne Smith bothering to set up a small business making lovelly home-made seasonal jams. Supermarkets aren't interested in little suppliers - they need BIG suppliers who can make things on an industrial scale at the CHEAPEST price - like they can do in China.
Having local shops around means that people like Roma & Jayne are able to take the plunge and start their own business - in this case "Little & Often" seasonal jams - available exclusively (at the moment) from Deli Adriano! We stock products from lots of little producers - so next time you have to do some food shopping, think to yourself "can I do things differently?" Maybe if I bought less at one time and shopped at my local shops, I can be proud to say "I support small businesses". You might even save money by not buying things you don't really want or need!
