Another day in Belfast working with the volunteers, visiting patients in their home. Less traumatic than yesterday, although we visited a couple who's eldest son had died three months ago. He was the breadwinner of the family. They were very surprised to see white people being prepared to visit them at home.
In the afternoon we did a workshop for the volunteers on hygiene, although they mainly wanted to know more about HIV/Aids, Cholera, Dysentry and other diseases.
It was a priveledge being able to meet and pray with the patients. I hope this was encouraging for them, as it was for me.
We did learn though that the lady we met and prayed for yesterday, Gloria, had died in the night, which brought home the reality of what life is like here.
